Fences, fences everywhere. Some fences have murals of pretty parks and temples that disguise rebar and concrete plagued holes in the ground and some offer no visual mask beside simply hiding what's behind. Besides hutongs and individual buildings, people are disappearing, too. The place I went to 6 weeks ago with tasty street food, not-so-tasty street food and loads of friendly Beijingers are now no where to be found. Plus, I've been looking, and I have not seen a single homeless person in the past two weeks. Where did they go?

When Beijing says no ugly buildings and rural or homeless folk, there will be no ugly buildings and rural or homeless folk!
